Fees, Insurance, and Billing
Fees
Session fees vary based on service and session length. We charge:
Therapy: $180 to $210 per session (HST exempt)
- Coaching: $120 to $210 per session (HST applicable)
Fees are reviewed and confirmed before your first appointment.
We offer a limited number of sliding scale spots, depending on the availability of our therapists and coaches. Please reach out to us for more information.
Payment
We keep a credit card on file with your consent. For contactless billing, payment is processed automatically after each session so you can focus fully on your appointment. A receipt is issued after payment.
We accept:
- Credit card
- E-transfer
- Direct billing to your insurance provider
E-transfers must be completed within 2 business days. If payment is not received within that timeframe, the credit card on file will be charged.
Cancellations & No Show
We require 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, are charged the full session fee. Please note that insurance providers do not reimburse missed or late-cancelled sessions.
We encourage clients to provide notice as early as possible so appointment times can be offered to others.
Insurance & Direct Billing
We are happy to collaborate with several insurance providers to make mental health support more accessible. Psychotherapy is a regulated healthcare service and is typically covered by extended health insurance plans. Professional Coaching, however, is not a regulated healthcare service and is not covered by insurance.
We ask all clients to confirm their coverage, session limits, and reimbursement eligibility directly with their insurance provider before beginning services.

Additional Funding
OSAP Bursary for Students with Disabilities (BSWD) offers up to $2,000 per academic year toward disability-related services, which can include therapy or coaching. To be eligible, you must:
- Receive OSAP with at least $1 in provincial need
- Have a verified permanent, persistent, or prolonged disability
- Apply through your school’s Financial Aid and Accessibility Services offices
The BSWD is non-repayable. For more information, visit osap.gov.on.ca or speak with your school’s Accessibility Services office.
Please let us know if you’d like or will be using OAP funding for Green Forest Therapy services.
For insurance companies that do not accept direct billing, we collect payment after each session by credit card or e-transfer. A detailed receipt including the therapist’s registration number will be provided so you may submit it for reimbursement.
Many university and college student insurance plans cover psychotherapy. Please check with your school’s student benefits provider to confirm coverage.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does direct billing mean? How does it work?
Direct billing means we submit your psychotherapy claim to your insurance company on your behalf after each session. If your claim is approved, the insurer pays their portion directly to us.
Does direct billing guarantee that my session will be fully covered?
No. Direct billing does not guarantee full coverage. Every insurance plan is different. Some plans cover a percentage of each session, such as 80 percent, while others have annual maximums. If your coverage includes a co-pay, deductible, or if you have reached your yearly limit, you are responsible for the remaining balance.
Can I use more than one insurance plan for coverage?
Yes. If you are covered under two insurance plans, we can coordinate benefits when possible. In many cases, the primary insurer pays first and the secondary insurer may cover some or all of the remaining balance. Please confirm the coordination of benefits with your insurance providers in advance. Please let us know if you are covered under more than one plan.
Can students use direct billing?
Yes, if your student insurance provider is one of the companies we work with. If your provider does not accept direct billing, we will provide a receipt for you to submit for reimbursement.
How does insurance coverage work for psychotherapy services?
Clients are responsible for understanding their own private benefits. Coverage varies by plan and by service type. Most plans provide a percentage per visit and a maximum dollar amount per year. For example, your plan may cover 80 percent of each session up to a yearly maximum. Once that limit is reached, you are responsible for the full session fee.
