Nicole Deeb takes a casual, relational approach to therapy, focusing on building a genuine connection that helps clients feel safe while processing their experiences. Her goal as a therapist is to create an authentic relationship with each client so the environment becomes a safe space to share. She acknowledges that she will show up as a human in this role and may make mistakes, but she commits to accountability, restoration, and repairing the therapeutic alliance.
Nicole is neurodivergent and typically works with others who are Autistic, ADHD, gifted, highly sensitive, dyslexic, or otherwise outside the neurotypical box. She often supports misdiagnosed, self-diagnosed, or late-diagnosed clients, and her work is grounded in narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and relational therapy.
She understands that telling stories of the past and confronting harmful societal expectations can reactivate the nervous system. But neuroplasticity means that when we revisit these experiences in a safe enough space, our brains can reorganize and reintegrate in meaningful ways.
Nicole’s therapy style is informed by MIGDAS-2 training, a deep understanding of dynamic disabilities, and her lived experiences with being identified as gifted in childhood, diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood, and self-identifying with characteristics of Autism. She brings a social justice lens, an appreciation for internal parts work through Internal Family Systems, and an understanding of intersectionality that extends beyond theory.
Clients who work with Nicole value her comfort with sensitive or political topics, her patience for slow and steady relationship-building, and her ability to offer longer 90-minute sessions, including Walk and Talk Therapy in High Park.
